Patent Application

If there is a technical developments or an inovation is occured by a person or a group of person or a company ,

İn order to protect the technical properties of the system, method , the product or both, the inventor/s file application before TPI.

The application should cover the description of the invention, the claims ( the developed , invented units/parts /system/method) , the summary and the tecnical drawings, if any

The examiner  at first side examine formally whether the applciation is acceptable due to the Law. No.551 Protection of Patents.

Then , the search report is asked from the related search offices;

TPI is also one of the search offices that can be chosen by the applicant.

Also SWEDEN, AUSTRIA, SWITZERLAND, RUSSIA, DENMARK, EP PATENT OFFICE are search offices .

According to the search report; the applicant can choose to continue with the examined patent process or stop examination and unexamined patent certificate can be asked from TPI after the publication of the search report for 6 months time.

The patent protection is 7 or 20 years and is not subject to renew when the protection period has been ended.

In 12 months time from the application before TPI, the applicant could file PCT application and in 30 months time from the application , the national entry processes are started.

The annual payments should be made due to the application date every year till the end of the protection period of 7 or 20 years. Otherwise the application/certificate is taken as withdrawn.

The applicant can also file additional patent documents related with the main patent application .
